Subject: Ex. WTS School Teacher - David Youles

Sadly, my old school teacher from 2nd Year Juniors - David Youles died on 21st April, aged 57. He was my teacher in the academic year 1969/70. I met him again socially about 3 years ago. He's in two of the class photos on the 'school photos' page. He was a career school teacher for 35 years and very dedicated.

I would just like to say how shocked and saddened I am at the death of Andrew. I have been in touch with Andrew for a few months and am glad to say he was still be same friendly and clever person he was at school. I am sure everyone what was at school with his will be equally stunned at this awful news.

I'm intrigued by the thread about David Kayler and the message from John Shiell. He lived at 137 Brian Road. Well my parents lived at 138 and still live there !! I remember David quite well. I believe he had a sister. I may be able to find out more from my parents but Roy Tyzack probably knows him best.

John, would you please contact me and/or Roy Tyzack about David. Roy's e-mail address can be picked up from the contact page-just enter tyzack in the first of the search fields. Roy has an excellent photo of David (my class mate) and he may share some teenage memories of David with you.

Subject: Best Friends for Life

This is a bit of an odd request, but I wondered if anyone might be able to help out. I'm a freelance feature writer with WOMAN magazine. I'm putting together a feature about best friends from infants school who are still mates now.
Take care and thanks again
Adrian

NB: The basis for Adrian's feature is as follows:

HAVE YOU GOT A BEST FRIEND FROM INFANTS SCHOOL?
Have you got a best friend who’s been with you from your first days at school and who is still your closest pal now? If you’ve got a friend who’s been with you from infant’s school (or nursery!) and has shared most of your highs and lows, maybe you can help. Possibly they’ve also been your matchmaker, bridesmaid, birthing partner, fellow mum, etc., as you’ve grown up together. For a fun feature for WOMAN in which you get PAID to appear, we’re looking for women who are now in their late20s/30s/40/50s who have lots of old photos and lots of tales about them and their best friend they still see now. If you can help, or know someone who can (please feel free to pass on this posting) either email me at adrian@amonti.freeserve.co.uk or call me on 01273 777693. It’ll just be a brief phone interview and sort out some photos. I’m really looking forward to hearing from you.

Subject: Memories 1949>53

I joined WT @ the age of 7, which was in 1949, My family moved from Perth Road, Near Gants Hill, to Lexden Drive off Barley Lane, Chadwell Heath and I was relocated from Christchurch Infants School, Ilford. I left WT in July 1953. I have just come across an autograph book, signed by many of the teachers and class mates at the time of my leaving. I am a little disappointed that I cannot find any photos of my classmates for this period, so I list below the names of friends and teachers who signed my book, in the hope that this may trigger memories from some of them. Pupils - Bacon D.G, Binder John, Binder Malcolm, Clifford Hart, Coburn J, Cordell Gwenyth, Ditton John, Frietag Brian, Gatwood David, Hall Keith, Hay Hamilton, Hooper J, Kinna Andrew, Ledger J, Mitchell Andrew, Pearce Roy, Pring A, Pring O, Reeve M, Ridgewell Colin, Snelling Peter, Taylor Ken, Utton K, Watson Michael, White Terry, Willott R.L.
