Personal Notes: My Parents, Jack and Bess, had the Off-licence opposite the school, which it seems, is most famously remembered for selling 1d bags of broken crisps! Wonder what the brewery, Tollemache, would make of that? After WT, I went onto Ilford County High and then worked in Export Shipping (various companies) until 7 years ago, when I developed severe back problems, which prevent me from working etc. I still live in the Gants Hill area. For many years prior to the back trouble, I was involved with Amateur Dramatics as a Stage Manager. My first theatre company was 'Young Variety Club of Great Britain' and we raised money to buy Sunshine coaches for handicapped children. Great fun for a worthy cause.
