Personal Notes: It was a long while ago that I was at William Torbitt as I am 60 next birthday. I remember well Mr Cowan, the head master and Mr Bidgood and his passion for music. I remember being taught in a class of 48. No maximum class numbers in those days. 44 of my class passed the 11-plus. He must have been a brilliant teacher. In the Infants I remember Miss Ball who was truly fearsome. My friends were Valerie Randall, Susan Howard and Janette Lowry. I have been married for nearly 40 years and have 3 children and 6 grandchildren.
