A wonderful time. Good teachers who cared about us and a happy atmosphere. Lots of space to run around. We had the opportunity to do all sorts of different activities. I often think how lucky we were to go to William Torbitt!

My memories of William Torbitt are playing kiss chase and being so in love with a boy called Lyndon Bradley. I was ever so upset when I found out he was moving away. Would love to know what he's up to now!

I remember the playing fields and the goldfish pond and some great unofficial rounders matches in the summer of 62. I also remember all that music practice, still I read lots of comics that I hid on the music stand whilst I was waiting my turn.

Gorgeous Ms Whitney (was that the married or maiden name, memory doesn't stretch back that far)
I remember crushing my fingers in music stands as I was carrying them up the steps to the hall. Health and Safety Policy? What was that?

I was at William Torbitt between 1957 and 1962. Names of teachers at the time include Miss Skidmore, and Mr and Mrs Bidgood.
I remember that the last school play drew upon a novel new Soap that was gripping the nation at the time. The programme was on ITV and someone was stretchered through the corridors wearing a hairnet as a reminder of the current story line - Ena Sharples had collapsed in Coronation Street.

Hi there to anyone who remembers me! I was in Miss Perry's, Mr. Treadway's and Mrs. Swonnell's classes.I loved school and most of my memories are happy ones. School plays were the best, what better way to spend your time than messing around in silly costumes with all your mates, beats maths any day! I remember the dinner huts, the field at playtime, the garden, the dreadful toilets and Grant Garwood nearly breaking his neck by jumping down that huge flight of concrete steps!
